The United States Supreme Court rejects Ghislaine Maxwell’s call

The United States Supreme Court rejected a call from Ghislaine Maxwell against his conviction on sex trafficking.
Without providing an explanation, the court refused to hear the appeal of the former British worldly, which means that his 20 -year sentence will remain in place with the exception of a presidential forgiveness.
His lawyer, David Oscar Markus, told the BBC that his team was “deeply disappointed”, but would continue to explore legal paths “to ensure that justice is done”.
Maxwell was found guilty for his role in their attraction of minor girls so that her former boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein operates. Epstein died in prison in 2019.
Epstein victim’s family members Virginia Roberts Giuffre told the BBC that they were grateful for the refusal of the court and determined to ensure that she is serving her full sentence.
The Ministry of Justice did not immediately comment.
She was recently interviewed by federal agents in the United States on what she knew in the context of an investigation into the sex trafficking program and if others could have been involved.
She was found guilty in 2021 to have facilitated Epstein abuse. The prosecutors said that she had recruited and treated girls, some at 14, between 1994 and 2004, before being mistreated by Epstein, a New York financier.
Maxwell’s lawyers called on the verdict, arguing that it should never have been tried or convicted of its role in the program.
Speculation was widespread that Trump could forgive Maxwell. The White House previously declared “no leniency is given or discussed” – A feeling he reiterated on Monday.
“This is not something I have heard of,” Karoline Leavitt’s press secretary told journalists, but said that, as a rule, “we do not start requests from Clémence”.
The files surrounding the case of Epstein, including the testimony of the Grand Jury, have become a political flash point among the requests they are released.
Maxwell was transferred to a minimum security prison establishment in Texas after his interview with officials from the Ministry of Justice in July. In these interviews, she denied having seen an inappropriate conduct of Trump during her interactions with Epstein.
The installation, FPC Bryant, is located approximately 100 miles (160 km) from the capital of Texas d’Austin.
The family members of Giuffre, Sky and Amanda Roberts and Danny and Lanette Wilson, said in a written declaration that they “hope that the Doj will realize that it belongs to a maximum security prison, not in the Country Club in which it is currently”.
