Make your hunts easier with the wishes list

There are hundreds of equipment materials to bring together Monster Hunter Wildswhich can all be used to forge new armor and weapons. Whether you need a common ore or unique articleIt can be difficult to keep all traces. The best way to mitigate this problem is to use the wishes list.

Unfortunately, this incredibly useful tool is not well presented. A key functionality is not at all explained, and another is apparently broken (editor’s note: lol). Do not let it dissuade you from trying it! It is guaranteed to make your experience more efficient if you understand how to use it. We are going to cover the functioning of Wishlist and how to pass through some of the clumsy connections.

How to use the wishes list

First, visit the Smithy in one of your basic camps or the big hub. While hovering on a weapon, a talisman or a piece of armor, press Triangle / Y to access the submenu, then select the Add to Wishlist option.

This will highlight all the documents necessary to forge your article on the list of wishes. The backup in the main Smithy menu and access to the Wishlist forge / upgrade option will display everything you have added to the list. It is much more organized than scrolling through other menus to develop specific equipment.

But this is just a way that this tool can help you. A notification will also appear on the right side of the screen each time you collect a required equipment. Whether it’s materials that you bring together the environment or parts that break a monster, you will receive notifications that tell you how much you need and when you have found enough.

In addition, all the monster pieces you need will have a variety of pins to highlight the beast you need to hunt and how to get them. Let’s go with an example and say that I need a Gore Magala Feller +. After adding the desired equipment to the wishes list, I will see pins in the following menus to help me:

  • On any quest or surveys with Gore Magala
  • On a Magala gore on the map, as well as its name in the environmental view window
  • On the required parts of the list of obtained materials by Gore Magala, including all the potential awards of broken part

I cannot take place how practical this particular feature is. I always grind materials for different things, so it is useful to know immediately which monsters I should prioritize instead of returning and scrolling through the menus.

The list of wishes is not a perfect tool. It shouldn’t surprise you Given the state of the game That there could be a potentially broken menu option you miss. Looking at the menu in the wishes list via the Smithy, you are stuck with only the equipment list. Pressing R1 / RB will not switch to the required Material tab. This other option is intended to list each equipment individually so that you can see more precisely what you need. It’s quite useful if you have a lot in your wishes list, but there does not seem to be how to see it from Smithy.

Fortunately, it works if you access it differently: If you open the Options menu, go to the Info tab, then select Wishlist, you can freely see your required documents. You are not alone if you think it does not make sense. Although Monster Hunter Wilds Maybe sometimes unnecessarily complicated, leaving the gray option through a version of the wishes list is strange and probably a bug.

On a related note, you cannot delete the elements from the wishes list during visualization via the Smithy. Raising it the submenu only shows the skills of potential equipment or comparison with your current equipment. The slow method is to go individually to their forge menus and remove them in the same way as you added them. If you want a faster way to delete something from your wishes, you will need to do so by opening the menu in the wishes list via your options. Hoping that these strange wrinkles will be reproduced in future updates.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X / S and Windows PCS.
