“Whenever you need rescuing, I’ll tell you a story.” IFC Films has released the full official trailer for 100 nights of heroesa fantastic romantic thriller from the filmmaker Julia Jackman as his second film so far (after Bonus track). It’s set to hit theaters starting in December – an impressive indie creation with top-notch fantasy world-building. When her neglectful husband leaves after placing a secret bet to test his fidelity, Cherry and her quick-witted servant must fend off a dangerously attractive visitor: Manfred. The film is adapted from the bestselling graphic novel of the same name. Here is a better introduction from this book to define the concept of narration: “In the tradition of The thousand and one nightsa beautifully illustrated tapestry of folk tales and myths about the secret heritage of storytellers in an imaginary medieval world. 100 nights of heroes is written and directed by British writer/filmmaker Julia Jackmandirecting his second feature film after directing Bonus track before, and numerous short films. Based on the 2016 graphic novel “A Hundred Nights of Heroes” by Isabel Greenberg. Produced by Stephanie Aspin, Helen Simmons, Grant S. Johnson. It will premiere at the 2025 Venice Film Festival in the Critics’ Week (aka Settimana Internazionale della Critica – or SIC) sidebar.
