In addition to the Netflix adaptation of Guillermo del Toro of the classic of Mary Shelley, a very different vision of The bride! de Frankenstein arrives at our meeting next year.
The long -awaited film of Maggie Gyllenhaal has now received an official R note for “Strong / bloody violent content, sexual content / nudity and language.”
The first trailer for The bride!Who features Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale and Jake Gyllenhaal, made his debut in Cinemacon earlier this year, but has not yet been published online.
Gyllenhaal (Maggie) went to Instagram to share the first fixed images of the production of the film last year, giving us an overview of Bale (The black knight, thor: love and thunder) As a Frankenstein and Buckley monster (Men, small nasty letters) Like the bride holder of the misunderstood creature.
We have heard of this project for the first time in 2022 when it was developed for Netflix, but a follow -up report said that the film had been put aside shortly after the start of the strikes in Hollywood and was bought elsewhere. More recently, we would learn that Warner Bros. had acquired The bride!, which is now planned for a theatrical outing on March 6, 2026.
Gyllenhaal directs after being acclaimed for his first feature film, The lost girl. Penelope Cruz (Vanilla Sky, Zoolander 2), Peter Saragaard (Green Lantern, Batman) Annette Bening (American Beauty, Nyad) and Julianne Hough (Footloose, dirty grandfather) are also part of the distribution, but no details on their roles have been disclosed.
This catch on history “Sees a lonely Frankenstein moving to Chicago from the 1930s to seek the help of a Dr. Euphronius by creating a companion for himself. The two invigorate a young murdered woman, and the bride is born. She is beyond what one or the other wanted, lighting a fuel romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”

The original Married to Frankenstein was led by James Whale and was a direct suite of 1931 Frankenstein. The intrigue focused on the mentor of Henry Frankenstein’s mentor (Colin Clive), Doctor Septimus Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger), who convinces Henry to help him create a bride for the monster (Boris Karloff). Henry is wary of giving life to another potentially murderous creature, but is sung and threatened by Dr. Pretorius and the monster, leading to the creation of the titular character (represented by Elsa Lanchester, who also appeared in the film like Mary Shelley).
