Loco Films, based in Paris, has acquired international sales rights on the first feature film by Daniel Vidal Toche “The Anatomy of the Horses” (“La Anatomía de Los Caballos”), which is presented as a world premiere in Proxima competition at Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
Shot in the Peruvian Andes in the Spanish languages and Quechua, “the anatomy of the horses” represents an exploration of time and the revolution in the high lands far from Perú.
Loco Films shared the trailer exclusively with Variety.
The Spaniard Ignacio Vuelta produced the feature film of Playa Chica films based at Tarifa and co-written the scenario alongside Vidal Toche. The two are graduates of the ECAM ECAM ECAM, Madrid Film School, behind Ecam Forum.
Other co -production partners are sidereal cinema in Spain, the pioneers of Peru, films and walks of myth films and walks of Colombia.
The actors Juan Quispe and Edith Ramos overcome a story which intersects two periods, that after the revolutionary Ángel Pumacahua of the 18th century, defeated in combat, which fled in his village and, upon his arrival, is found in the Peruvian Andes of the 21st century.
A meteorite crashed nearby, tearing over time and marking the collision of the eras. There, in the midst of the echoes of this rupture, Ángel meets Eustaquia, in search of his twin sister, who disappeared in the fight against a mining company.

“In the Andean region of Puno, the landscape is hard, relentless; a place where the earth itself seems to resist as if the weight of history and suffering persists in every corner,” he added.
A global sales and production company created by the leaders of experienced European films Laurent Daniélou and Enrique Gonzalez Kuhn, Loco Films aims to find and reveal the best independent cinema.
Sideal, based in Madrid, manages the Spanish distribution rights on “the anatomy of horses”, which will be presented on July 7 at Karlovy Vary Festival, as part of the Proxima competition.
Proxima offers a space to the new voices of the world to complete the Crystal Globe competition by celebrating contemporary cinema with a collection of movies and avant-garde discoveries.
The 59th Karlovy varies intl. The film festival takes place from July 4 to 12.
