Los Angeles Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars: Preview, Predictions and Odds

Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

London’s final game of the 2025 NFL season will likely be the best of the bunch as the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Los Angeles Rams in a 4-2 team battle.

Jacksonville came back to Earth with a bump this past Sunday as they followed a thrilling Monday Night Football victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with a frustrating 20-12 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite their strong start to the season, the Jaguars are one game behind the Indianapolis Colts (5-1) in the AFC South, and a meeting with the Rams promises to be another stern test.

The Rams returned to winning ways against a Baltimore Ravens team that was missing Lamar Jackson last week, although their shock loss to the undermanned San Francisco 49ers the week before meant they were in third place in the NFC West behind San Francisco and Seattle.

Yet Matthew Stafford continues to shine under center for Los Angeles, performing efficiently while pushing the ball downfield at the second-highest rate in the NFL. Stafford ranks fourth in air yards per attempt (9), with only Baker Mayfield (32) attempting more throws of 20 yards or more than Stafford (28).

Stafford’s ability to succeed against a fast-paced Jaguars defense that thrives on turnovers may be somewhat compromised by the likely absence of star receiver Puka Nacua.

Nacua (ankle) was injured in the win over the Ravens and missed Wednesday’s practice.

While the Rams still have one of the best receivers to play the game in the form of veteran Davante Adams, Nacua’s potential removal from the equation theoretically improves the chances of Jacksonville slowing down Los Angeles’ passing attack, with the advantage in weapons expected to reside with the Jaguars as they look to make it eight wins in 14 games in London in franchise history.

Senior receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has totaled 170 yards over the past two weeks after putting a slow start behind him, while the Jaguars hope to get what had been a productive running game back on track after being shackled by the Seahawks last week.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was sacked a season-high seven times in the loss to Seattle, but, if the Jags can better protect him against a deep and destructive Rams defensive front, they hope to get two-way rookie Travis Hunter more involved in the offense.

With the exception of a strong performance against the Chiefs, Hunter has not lived up to his status as the second overall pick, which the Jaguars traded up to move up in the draft and select.

But Hunter, who has played 63 percent of the offensive snaps at wideout and 39 percent of the defensive snaps at cornerback, isn’t panicking about the lack of production at this point.

“It’s very important to me to be patient,” Hunter said.

“I just have to let the game come to me. The coaches are trying to fix some things for me. I just have to keep working and have the guys trust me because I do my job every time. I just have to keep doing my job.”

Against a vulnerable Rams secondary, Hunter hopes the trip across the pond will bring his breakout game.

Prediction for Los Angeles Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s hard to call. These are two well-matched teams with the talent on both sides of the ball to produce an exciting game. The Rams have a slight advantage at quarterback, but the Jaguars have significant experience preparing for and winning games in London. This familiarity can make the difference here.

Prediction: Los Angeles Rams 27-30 Jacksonville Jaguars
