October 8 (UPI) – An Australian bodybuilder broke a world record Guinness which had existed for almost a decade by performing 733 pull -ups in an hour.

Jade Henderson, 32, carried out on average more than 12 pull -ups per minute to break the 725 record set by his Australian compatriot Eva Clarke in 2016.

“I decided to start training to beat the world of traction record because I liked the idea of doing something that no one else had ever done. I also wanted to see what my mind and my body were physically capable,” Henderson at Guinness World Records.

The athlete said that she initially planned to opt for the 24 -hour version of the record, but an injury during training led her to modify her plans.

“I did 3,500 pull-ups in 12 hours and I torn my biceps. I had a partial tear of the tendon and the muscle of the biceps. I had to rest my arm for about six weeks before I could redo pull-up,” she said.

Henderson opted for the one hour record to avoid any other injury.

“I had no specific figures to reach,” she said. “I knew it was going to be difficult to beat the previous record of 725, so I was just aiming to make some repetitions more than that.”

The record attempt was finally crowned with success, with 733 pull -ups carried out in an hour.

“I was really happy with the result. I gave everything I had and at that time, I don’t think I could have done better,” she said.
