Lizzo says she was canceled throughout her career

Obviously, you know Lizzo.
It is not an exaggeration to say that Lizzo’s career has experienced its share of ups and downs in recent years. Three years after her “Damn Time” was song No. 1 in the United States, she recently returned with several singles who failed to draw the Billboard Hot 100. In particular, Lizzo faced several prosecution in 2023 for alleged sexual harassment and other claims, which she has since addressed publicly. (At least one of the proceedings is still in progress.)
“I was a lot canceled,” she said. “I should not say that I was canceled, because I am still leaving, but I got a lot of ways. Literally every time I received southern, I use it as a growth and learning lesson.”
In the interview, Lizzo also thought about the reaction she faced after her song “Good As Hell” appeared in an advertisement by Weight Watchers in 2019, shortly after Oprah Winfrey bought the company.
“It was like” Oprah wants to use your song “, I lost my head,” she recalls at the time. “I said to myself:” Oh my god Oprah knows who I am! “I said to myself:” Yes! “”
“I remember publishing the advertisement because I was so proud and everyone said to me:” You have a joke, as if it promotes diet. And I said to myself: “Oh my God”. It broke my heart.
If I can, for a moment: being in the public’s eyes seems miserable, and I would not really like anyone. That said! If you appear on a podcast talking about how you have been “canceled” – especially after you are always signed with a major label that publishes your music, And You book promising cinema roles – I think it’s worth examining if being “canceled” is even one thing.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter. You can listen to the whole episode with Lizzo here.
