Liverpool’s Alexander Isak misses huge chance against Man United

Liverpool striker Alexander Isak continues to struggle to achieve the kind of form that made him the Premier League’s most expensive signing when he joined Newcastle United in the summer.
Isak cost a British record transfer fee of £125 million, as BBC Sport reported at the time, and few people questioned it at the time after his world-class performances at Newcastle.
Still, it’s been a poor start to the season for the Sweden international, who has just one goal for Liverpool so far, while he is on a goalless run in his last five games, potentially six if he doesn’t find the back of the net today.
Check out this big chance below that Isak would surely have buried last season, but which was saved here by Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens…

United will be relieved to still be in the lead after a huge opportunity like this, and Lammens did pretty well to keep him out, although Isak surely should have done better too.
Can Liverpool find a way back against Manchester United?
Liverpool fell behind in the first minute of the match as Bryan Mbeumo shot past Giorgi Mamardashvili, but the match has been fairly even since then.
The visitors had chances to increase their lead, but the home side also came back well and were awarded a penalty at one point, although it was disallowed.
Cody Gakpo hit the post and Isak missed the chance. It is therefore essential that LFC’s attackers put on their finishing boots for the second half, otherwise they will face a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
United won’t have been favorites heading into this game, but they have done a decent job so far and could well be confident of retaining all three points.
