Liverpool ready to compete with arsenal for “Rolls Royce” CB
Everything happens in Liverpool.
Although the faithful of the Anfield team all await the result of the saga of Alexandre Isak with a full breathing, the FSG is well aware that a new central defender must be signed before the transfer window is closed.
The dean of Bournemouth, Huijsen, was continued in May, but the Spanish prodigy signed for Real Madrid in a package of 50 million pounds sterling. Nevertheless, an alternative is still necessary, especially because Liverpool sold Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for up to 35 million pounds Sterling last month.
Liverpool align new central defenders
Marc Guehi is Liverpool’s first choice option to strengthen Arne Slot’s background line, and the star of Crystal Palace also wants the Reds.
However, Newcastle United is also interested, and Liverpool is not willing to respond to the 50 million pounds of the Eagles with only a year remaining in the player’s agreement.
According to the transfer of the initiate Graeme Bailey, Liverpool participated in the race for the central defender of Stade Rennais, Jeremy Jacquet, who also attracts the interest of Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Jacquet, 20, has just been released on the senior stage but has already established itself as one of the most exciting talents in French football.
Rennes knows, however, and rejected Arsenal’s approach. Thus, the sports director Richard Hughes has the board of work if he wants to design an agreement and finish the slot bottom line before the 2025/26 campaign.
Why Liverpool wants Jeremy Jacquet
Liverpool must sign a central defender this month. Although there is a provisional optimism among the Liverpool circles that the slot machine will look Ibrahima Konate Pen a New Deal in Anfield, the recent injury of Achille by Joe Gomez and, indeed, the departure of Quansah both suggests that more depth is essential.
Virgil Van Dijk and Konate will continue their peer partnership protecting the sticks, but Jacquet would add the additional depth necessary to compete on several fronts, with a set of upward skills which could still reach elite status.
Described by analyst Ben Mattinson as a “Rolls-Royce” of a defender with the potential of becoming one of the central defenders of the world, and in this spirit, Jacquet could even prove to be the own version of Liverpool of Huijsen.

Although he only played 12 times for Rennes after leaving Clermont Foot in the second level of French football, the extensive qualities of Jacquet align with Huijsen, mixing a game of booming passes with a defensive side of steel, strong in duel and proactive in the tackle.
The aggressive and technically clever style of play of Jacquet even saw her make comparisons with William Saliba of Arsenal, so it is not surprising that the Gunners want to conclude an agreement. However, this also confirms that Liverpool must ensure that they win the race.
If that was not enough, Arsenal also had a direct interest in Huijsen before Los Blancos flies and did not conclude an amazing agreement.
Only, this time, Liverpool could win the race if they are moving forward now.
