Liverpool is preparing an offer for “one of the best DMs on the planet”

Discussions on transfers in Liverpool in recent days have focused on adding a new front forward.

The two players in question are Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, however, the Reds have reached a rather complex agreement than the other.

Around the start of the week, it was reported that the Anfield team had approached Newcastle United, issuing its desire to submit an offer of 120 million pounds sterling on the table for Isak.

It is a sum of astronomical money, but the Toon has always said the same thing about the Swedish; He is not for sale.

While it happened, Newcastle had in fact planned to conclude an agreement for Ekitike themselves, even by recording an offer. Unfortunately for the men of Eddie Howe, they seem ready to miss French.

It is because Liverpool came with their own offer for the Frankfurt attacker and there is now confidence that he will head towards the Merseyside. Once this agreement is concluded, Richard Hughes and Co will surely relax? Apparently not.

Liverpool looking at the Stars of Real Madrid

Although Ekitike is currently targeting number one, there have been links with the Real Madrid Roddrygo winger in recent days.

Also a target for Arsenal this summer, reports earlier in the week, suggested that Liverpool should send civil servants to Madrid to discuss an agreement for Brazilian. However, with Ekitike who now looks more and more likely to arrive, if they sign another advanced player remains to be seen.

In fact, according to reports in Spain, another Madrid star is on the club’s radar: Aurelien Tchouameni.

Liverpool has already tried to sign the detention midfielder once when he was still in Monaco, but they could make a new attempt.

The report indicates that the side of Arne Slot is “back on the attack and prepares a large offer to guarantee its services”.

What Tchouameni could offer to Liverpool

Two years ago, Liverpool by Jurgen Klopp underwent a reconstruction of midfielder. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson had left for Saudi Arabia and Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara injuries also left Anfield.

Consequently, three players came: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Mac Allister was by far the most consistent, working on nominees for the price of the player of the year PFA. For Gravenberch, progress in the Merseyside has been slower.

Under Klopp, he had a hard time finding a regular starting plate, but the arrival of Slot transformed him into a midfielder monster. The Dutchman reused his compatriot as more than one midfielder with a defensive spirit and he shone, winning in particular the prize of the young player of the year of the Premier League for 2024/25.

Szoboszlai, on the other hand, was criticized by Jamie Carragher for needing more goals. This could well explain why Florian Wirtz was signed this summer.

However, despite the captivating campaign of Gravenberch, he could well be replaced by Tchouameni, a player capable of imitating Fabinho at the base of the Liverpool midfielder.

Described as “one of the best defensive backgrounds on the planet” by analyst Raj Chohan, the 25 -year -old has been in the block for some time now, cement in the Madrid team.

Last season, the Frenchman proved why he had so strongly assessed, from 31 of the 32 games for which he was available in Laliga and also started ten of the 12 links in the Champions League for which he was available. You don’t play as much games for Madrid without being a good player.

Like Fabinho, it is a tempo sector but it can also break the game fantastically good. Here is what the data tell us.

Analyzing Fabinho at the top of his powers, when Liverpool won the Premier League in 2019/20, the similarities with Tchouameni are clear to see.

While the Brazilian has crossed more plated by 90 minutes, in other areas, there is not much to divide the duo.

They complete a similar number of sockets, have almost an identical number of keys and have similar skills with regard to various passage measures.

For a midfielder with a defensive spirit, however, the ability to intercept the game and block the paths of surpassing is crucial. These are two areas where Tchouameni and Fabinho at its peak are very similar.

The signing of a new holding player this summer may not be the most urgent problem, but if Madrid’s feeling is on the market, it would be a wonderful opportunity for the FSG to seize.
