Liverpool aim for midfielder Eduardo Camavinga transfer in 2026

Liverpool are considering a long-term bid to strengthen their midfield by targeting Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, according to TBR Football.

The Reds are reportedly considering a move in 2026, when Camavinga’s situation could be more favorable.

With questions emerging over midfield depth at Anfield, this potential transfer saga emerges as one to watch in the coming windows.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been forced to rely heavily on a restricted set of midfield options this season.

Liverpool need more depth in midfield

Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch carried most of the load, with few reliable reinforcements behind them.

Meanwhile, new signings like Florian Wirtz are yet to make an impact in terms of goal contributions.

The resulting tension has caused the Liverpool hierarchy to seriously consider strengthening the engine room for the future.

Camavinga ticks a lot of boxes. At just 22 years old, he already has an elite pedigree, two Champions League titles with Real Madrid, and he offers versatility and even experience.

However, in recent months his minutes have been limited. The rise and form of Arda Guler and Aurélien Tchouaméni, combined with Camavinga’s injuries, have complicated his position in Madrid’s rotation.

With talk of a chase for 2026, Liverpool already have Camavinga on their shortlist alongside other midfield targets such as Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton.

Yet many challenges remain. Real Madrid might be reluctant to sell a player they still consider a project, especially if his status recovers.

Camavinga has strong roots in the Spanish capital, both on and off the pitch, making a move abroad difficult emotionally.

Liverpool will probably have to offer a convincing package, both financially and in terms of sporting vision, to convince him.

The Premier League giants lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to the Spanish giants this summer and are now eyeing an opportunity to get one against Real Madrid next year.
