Live updates: Trump reveals the 2026 budget, looking for substantial cuts through the government

The White House says that it would like to reduce more than a billion dollars in subsidy programs administered by the Ministry of Justice – a frequent objective of the Conservatives, but which was difficult to achieve at the Congress, in part because the legislators of both parties consider part of this money as important in their districts and states of origin.

The administration says that it would preserve and strengthen “effective public security programs”, while eliminating nearly 40 other people who, according to them, are “duplicate”, unlike the administration objectives, “fail to reduce violent crimes or are armed against the American people”.
