Austin, Texas – It’s almost at this time of year, when many people like to swim, toast and end their evening with a fireworks display.
As July 4 approaches, here are some events you can attend in the Austin region.
County of Travis
Austin Symphony Orchestra July 4 Concert and fireworks
- When and where: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Vic Mathias Shores, located at 800 W. Riverside Drive in Austin. Musical performances start at 5 p.m., followed by a tacos consumption competition at 7:25 p.m., a concert by the Austin Symphony Orchestra at 8:30 p.m. and a fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Independence day pfireworks
- When and where: 9 p.m. in Typhoon Texas, located at 18500 State Highway 130, North Service Road in Pflugerville
Galleria Hill Country independence festival
- When and where: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hill Country Galleria, located at 12700 Hill Country Blvd. In Bee Cave. Enjoy a range of artists at the Central Plaza, from School of Rock from 4 p.m. to Vallejo at 8 p.m.
Celebration of July 4 Lakeway
- When and where: Kick off the parade at 8:30 am on Lakeway Drive, followed by a reception of Hot-Dog at 9:30 am at the Lakeway Activity Center, located at 105 Cross Creek. The celebration ends at noon.
Williamson County
Leander Liberty Fest
- When and where: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3 in Devine Lake Park, located at 1807, avenue Waterfall in Leander. The free event includes a performance by the singer of Texas Braedon Barnhill at 6.30 p.m. and, of course, a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.
Day of spectacular independence in Liberty Hill
- When and where: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 3 at Liberty Hill Middle School, located at 13125 TX-29 in Liberty Hill. Take advantage of a watermelon seed spitting competition and a homemade apple pie competition at 6 p.m., a “snowball fight” at 7:45 p.m. and more throughout the evening. The fireworks start at 9:45 pm, after the song of the “star banner” and a prayer.
July 4 Parade and border days in Round Rock
- When and where: The Sertomoma parade starts at 8:30 am between Mays Crossing and Highway 79, then the border days start at noon in Old Settlers Park, located at 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. The fireworks show begins in the dark, around 9:30 p.m., and the celebration ends at 11 p.m.
Celebration of July 4 in Taylor
- When and where: 9 a.m. at sunset in various places in Taylor. The celebration begins at 9 a.m. with a parade, from the West Seventh and Davis streets and ending in Murphy Park, located at 1600 Veterans Drive. Then at 10 a.m., cool with a social ice cream at the American Legion Hall Post 39 in the city, also in Murphy Park. The picnic then starts at 4 p.m., with guest performance like singer Country Dale Watson. Participants can finish their night at sunset with a fireworks display above Duck Pond de Murphy Park.
Celebration of July 4 at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown
- When and where: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Georgetown. The event starts in San Gabriel Park, located at 445 E. Morrow St., with a day full of games and journeys, catering trucks, music and more. At 11 a.m., the city will host its parade in the hometown of July 4, from the Pont de la rue College and ending near the pavilion. Later in the evening, the fireworks starts at 9:30 p.m. at the McMaster Athletic Fields, located on WL Walden Drive.
Cedar Sparktacular July 4 celebration
- When and where: 5 p.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Elizabeth Milburn park, located at 1901 Sun Chase Blvd. In Cedar park. Catering trucks, sellers and the children’s area open at 5 p.m., according to live music at 7:30 p.m., an introduction at 8:15 p.m. and a display of fireworks at 9:30 p.m. can stay after fireworks to watch “Despicable Me 4” from 9:50 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
American Rhapsody: Hutto July 4
- When and where: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Brusy Creek amphitheater, located at 1001 CO RD. 137 in Hutto. Enjoy an evening full of live music, food sellers, a spectacle of laser light and more. The fireworks final starts at 9:45 p.m.
County of Hays
Show of fireworks of July 4 in San Marcos
- When and where: 9:30 p.m. at the UFCU stadium at the 1100 watercolor Springs Dr. in San Marcos. The city recommends seeing places like City Park and the San Marcos Activity Center.
Kyle’s Independence Day Fireworks Show
- When and where: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Verde park, located at 3901 Burnham St. in Kyle. Take advantage of the music of Yesenia and the Groove Doctors from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., followed by a performance of the grooves from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Red, white and buda
- When and where: The event begins with the city center parade along the streets of Houston and San Marcos at 9 a.m., followed by a prize ceremony at the City Park Pavilion, located at 204 San Antonio St. Festivities, at 4:30 p.m., and Aaron Watson fans can see the Country singer arriving on stage at 7:30 p.m. 9:15 am.
