Lineups revealed as Three Lions look to book their place at the 2026 World Cup

England are just one win away from confirming their place at the 2026 World Cup.
Thomas Tuchel’s side travel to Latvia this evening knowing that a win will be enough to guarantee their presence in the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer following Serbia’s defeat at the weekend.
The Three Lions still have work to do and will take nothing for granted as they look to cross the finish line.
And after an impressive performance and victory against Wales a few days ago, there is no reason to believe there will be any mistakes on their trip this week.
Read on to see how the two teams line up for this qualifying clash.
Latvia team news
It will take a monumental effort from Latvia to get a result against England.
Nevertheless, Paolo Nicolate’s men will do their best and have prepared for the occasion.
Adopting their usual five-at-the-back formation, Krisjanis Zviedris will rely on his defense to provide plenty of protection against a formidable Three Lions attack.
And at the other end of the pitch, Vladislavs Gutkovskis could be an isolated figure as a No.9, and will need to shut down every opportunity that comes his way for Latvia to have a chance.
Latvia: Zvērdris, Vapne, Jurkovsky, Cernomordy, Balodis, Ciganik, Zelenkov, Varslavan, Weip, Ikaunieks, Gutkovskis
England team news
Tuchel has had numerous selection problems since taking over as England manager, and there have been a few eyebrow-raising choices so far during his tenure.
But the German coach did not choose to change much from the victory against Wales.
The main difference is that captain Harry Kane is fit and available to lead the line, while Myles Lewis-Skelly gets another nod at left-back, with Djed Spence moving to the right.
Elliot Anderson is also involved once again, as is Anthony Gordon, who replaces Marcus Rashford.
England: Pickford, Konsa, Stones, Spence, Lewis-Shelly, Anderson, Rice, Saka, Rogers, Gordon, Kane
