Mike Dunleavy shares the best priority of the NBA free agency from Warriors – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

The first part of the Warriors’ offseason in 2025 came and disappeared with the recovery of the NBA in hindsight, and now the real pleasure begins.
While the future of Jonathan Kuminga will be a domino effect for the rest of the Golden State free agency, which should start on Monday morning, the director general of the Warriors, Mike Dunleavy, spoke to Tim Kawakami on “the TK show” of their absolute priority for the rest of the out of season, whatever the situation of Kuminga.
“Yeah, I think the greatest thing for us is to know that the guys who will be here, how will we complete them?” Dunleavy said. “How to complete around Steph [Curry]Jimmy [Butler] and Draymond [Green]? [Brandin Podziemski]Moses [Moody]And go down the list. What should we add to this?
“I think there are specific skills that we can use on both sides of the ball, while understanding what types of players work for us. What types of players can play for Steve [Kerr]In the system with Steph and Dray and what they have done for many years here. It’s delicate. You have a little needle thread with it, but there are players that we can get who make us better. “”
Given that their NBA 2024-25 season ended overwhelming with Curry sidelined due to an injury, the Warriors remain attached to their quest for a season to win everything with their leader of Superstar – and its partners in crime.
So what type of skills is Dunleavy specifically looking for?
“The right thing is that there are many players available, whether on the market for free agents or that we can make businesses and put offers on guys. We will therefore target some players who, in our opinion, can adapt well. You must have this balance between the game. The other end, defensively can do nothing.
“So we try to watch guys who can improve this team. I think we have done very good work in free agency, whether it is a minimum or exceptions. I have a good idea of our group and what we can do to get better. So we will see what we can do.”
Kuminga will receive a qualification offer before the PT deadline from Sunday at 2 p.m., giving Golden State the possibility of corresponding to a contract that another team accepts with him as a limited free agent.
The teams can officially start to negotiate with players on Monday at 3 p.m. PT.
