Liberty recovers two starters against Mercury

Still far from its final form, the New York Liberty is officially a little closer to being whole.
Before the crucial interconnection conflict on Saturday with the Phoenix Mercury (10 p.m. HE, My9), head coach Sandy Brondello announced that Natasha Cloud and Jonquet Jones would return to action while Sabrina Ionescu would remain alongside Nyara Sabally.
Cloud is back in the fold after two games due to a “slight” fracture in his nose, which will likely force her to wear a form of protection during the match on Saturday. Jones, on the other hand, was a late scratch of the last match on Thursday against Washington with a disease.
In good news for Liberty, Brondello said that she was ready to improve the minutes of Breanna Stewart, referring to a 28 -year ceiling. Stewart returned from 13 games on Thursday, which saw New York reserves increase in Washington 89-63 hair removal.
Ionescu, on the other hand, will miss its second consecutive and third match of the last four due to an injury to the toes, a suffered in the last stages of a rare practice earlier this week. The leader has already been diagnosed with a foot injury after the Chicago Sky striker Kamilla Cardoso, came across her in a late tangle in a match last week, but Brondello expressed hope that ionescu could play in the second part of this three -game road trip, which goes to Golden State on Tuesday evening.
New York therefore has four of its five regular trailers for a big match against Mercury, one of the teams he pursues in the current WNBA ranking. The Liberty (24-15) is currently in fifth on an active support but is a half match behind the Mercury (24-14), which has a match in hand. New York can become the fifth team to get their place in the WNBA qualifiers in 2025 with a victory or a defeat for Golden State or Seattle.
A Liberty victory on Saturday in the desert would divide the four games series between New York and Phoenix, which put things back to the second equality break, record against the winning teams.
