Lewis Hamilton: Ferrari Driver blames for the Spanish Grand Prix “Terrible” in Barcelona | F1 News

Lewis Hamilton blamed himself for a “terrible” Spanish Grand Prix after finishing sixth in the Sunday race.
Hamilton appreciated his best joint qualification on Saturday and started fifth, but was quickly under pressure from Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, and let him pass after nine laps.
The driver of Ferrari then ran in a fifth lonely until a second stop at the Lent put him on the retro-cuff in his fight against the former teammate Mercedes George Russell and dropped him to sixth.
A security car for Kimi Antonelli retired gave Hamilton a late opportunity to catch up, but was overwhelmed by Nico Hulkenberg’s Sauber.
“Well, what do you want me to say? I had a very bad day and I have nothing to say. It was a difficult day,” said Hamilton discouraged Sky Sports F1.
“There is nothing else to add to it. It was terrible. It is useless to explain it. It is not your fault. I don’t know what to say.”
When he was told if the team could find answers, he added: “I’m sure they won’t – it was probably just me.”
Hamilton hoped to stand on the podium for the first time as a Ferrari driver, but had rather “zero positive” to take on Sunday.
He said, “I don’t know why it was so bad. It was the worst breed that I lived in terms of balance.”
Vasseur reveals that Hamilton “ had a problem ” in the last passage
Hamilton’s racing speed is generally a force, but it was clearly exceeded by Leclerc throughout the 66 laps around the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit and is now at 23 points behind his teammate Ferrari in the championship.
Ferrariās team director Frederic Vasseur revealed that Hamilton had had a problem on the car before the late security car but did not say what was the problem.
“You are sufficiently experienced to draw a conclusion after the driver’s first words,” he said.
“If you want to create a controversy, you can. But that is not the case. I think he did 70% of the race in front of Russell. I’m not sure Russell said that the race was a disaster.
“But then, we had a problem on the car last passage, before the safety car. The result is not good, but he made 45 laps in front of Russell.”
Rosberg: Hamilton’s race was incredibly bad
Hamilton only beat Leclerc once this season in the races, which came to the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagne last month.
Sky Sports F1‘S Nico Rosberg says “It is difficult to look at” his former struggle by teammate.
“Sunday was a horrible day for him because he was just slow there, which is very unusual,” said Rosberg.
“Yes, sometimes he went to qualify, but in the races, he is generally really great and the race was shocking.
“There is also no answers. There were damage on the ground? These floors are so sensitive and there can always be a little there and you waste a lot of time.
“When you have no answers, it’s really difficult as a driver, you see your teammate running in third place on the podium. In the light of the whole season he has had so far, this is a very dark situation.”
