Levy has already sold Xavi Simons of Spurs for only 8 million pounds sterling

Over the years, Tottenham Hotspur has been absent from many incredible attackers – many of which have captured the heart of the fans database during their respective periods at the club.
James Maddison is only one of the current players who played in such a role, accumulating 16 goals and 19 assists for Lilywhites in 75 outings – with six of his efforts for the last campaign helping them towards the glory of the Europa League.
Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen both shared responsibility in such a role at the time of Mauricio Pochettino, the latter undoubtedly going one of the best additions of the club.
The Dane only cost 11 million pounds sterling in 2013 and helped the club reach the Champions League final in 2018/19 – recording 27 goal contributions in its 51 appearances this season.
However, the current boss Thomas Frank now has his own version of a young superstar on which to count – with the talent potentially capable of adding to such a list in the years to come.
Spurs moves to land Xavi Simons this summer
After a summer of disappointment while trying to get a new number ten, the patience of the fans base was rewarded late in the window, after finishing a transfer of 52 million pounds sterling to sign Xavi Simons.
If it seems that the Dutchman was the third choice, an agreement for his signature could prove to be a good deal if he could rely on his recent success with RB Leipzig.
The 22 -year -old recorded more than 15 contributions to objectives in each of his two complete seasons in Germany, which treated Frank the ammunition he wanted in the advanced areas.
A decision for his signature was only made possible after having missed Ebechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White, potentially a disguised blessing, with Simons a player with enormous potential to improve, given his tender age.
However, he may have found first team minutes difficult to find – especially if the hierarchy kept a player who was previously in the books in northern London.
The former Star of Spurs who was the original Simons
Since he took the reins during the dead, the boss Frank has struggled to rely on a recognized number ten, with Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski both with injuries.
Pope Sarr has often fulfilled the void in the past two weeks, but has done so by showing an unknown role, the Senegalese star more suited to a deep role.
However, an agreement for Simons could allow the young person to return to his natural position, which in turn could offer a more balanced midfielder for the Frank 4-3-3 system.
The manager may have been able to navigate these injury problems in the first stadiums of the campaign if the club had maintained Giovani Lo Cels a few years ago.
The Argentinian initially joined the Lilywhites on loan for the first half of the 2019/20 campaign – before connecting permanently for a few months to a few months. It was a colossal affair, signed for 55 million pounds sterling, the same price as the Lilywhites spent to land the Kudus Mohammed this summer.
He has a career path similar to Simons, being subsequently in PSG books before going to another European outfit, which led their respective transfers to join the Spurs.
Lo Celso accumulated 90 appearances on a three -year spell in northern London – scoring a crucial goal against Manchester City a few years ago, which helped the team claim one of their famous results against the men of Pep Guardiola.
The Argentinian presented 24 times in his last year at Lilywhites – before being sold in an agreement of 8 million pounds sterling to return to his old Real Betis.
Such a decision has enabled the 29 -year -old player to resume his best form, marking ten times and recorded four assists in the past two years – helping the Laliga team reach the conference league final in 2024/25.

Although he did not reach the levels that many expected in northern London, he was always a superb option for the first team, potentially discharged too prematurely.
Many supporters hope that Simons will not suffer the same fate – need to reproduce such a form of his time in the Bundesliga if he wants to be a success during his time to play in Frank.
