Level 3 evacuations were extended for part of the County of Wasco while the fire closes the I-84 section at Columbia Gorge, highway 30

County of Wasco, Oregon (KPTV)-A forest fire was reported in the Gorges de Columbia River on Wednesday afternoon near Milepost 78 on the I-84 in west.
Level 3 will now evacuations have been extended from Rowena Rivenie Ferry Road to the east to River Road, Seven Mile Hill Road to Mountain View Drive, south to Chenowith Creek Road, Browns Creek Road in the east of the 7th street.
A level 2 evacuation notice is extended from Snipes West to Chenuweth Loop Road, Chenuwith Creek Road to Browns Creek Road.
Level 1 evacuation orders are issued for the tile port area.

I-84 and Highway 30 are closed from Rowena to Milepost 82. Drivers will have to use alternative routes.
At 2:15 p.m., the fire was 20 acres with the Oregon forest department, American forestry service and local fire districts. The fire is approximately 2.5 miles from the slabs. There were 10 engines, a hand crew, two oil tankers, a helicopter and two offers of water that respond.
The Gloria Center, located at 2505 West 7th Street in Dalles, will be open as a temporary house until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Middle School tiles, located at 1100 East 12th Street in Dalles, will be open at 4.30 p.m. as a temporary house.
The Sheriff’s Bureau of the County of Wasco also reported a level 2 evacuation “Be set” for 5,500 hwy 30 to Discovery Road.
A second fire on the Washington side of the river closed Highway 14, effectively stopping east / west trips in the Gorges de Columbia.
