Let’s not forget who was really Charlie Kirk

The right influencer did not deserve to die, and we must not forget the many despicable things he said and did.
Those in mourning made a crown for Charlie Kirk after his assassination at the United States Embassy in Pretoria on September 11, 2025.

The murder of the right -wing provocator Charlie Kirk is a tragedy. But the response augurs even greater tragedies for American politics. Even while democrats and progressives rushed to deplore the murder, the law rushed even faster to blame the left for his opposition to Donald Trump and his authoritarian movement, a sustained movement to the handle by the turning point of Kirk USA.
Kirk was entitled to his opinions and the way he expressed them, even if he did not support this right for others. He founded Professor Watchlist, committed to distinguishing the academics whom he believed to be discriminated against against conservative opinions, scholarships and students, causing threats to some of the appointed instructors. He regularly attacked the LGBTQ community, saying: “The perfect law of God …[says gay people] must be stoned to death. He said the civil rights law was “a huge mistake” and called the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. “a horrible person”. He made fun of the political assault in 2023 against the husband of Nancy Pelosi, Paul, and even suggested that someone should bail out his prison attacker.
Ironically, if this word is even possible to use in 2023 – he said: “I think it is worth having a cost, unfortunately, of deaths by firearms each year so that we can have the second amendment to protect our other rights given by God.”
Current number

Kirk said and did a lot of despicable things, but he didn’t deserve to die. Now his death is used by law to call for the persecution of practically anyone on the left of Kirk. “The left is the feast of the murder,” inton the owner of the X Elon Musk on his Nazi-Adjacer site. Wisconsin representative Derrick Van Orden told journalists that the media, “each of you”, is responsible. “You are responsible for it, because you echo the horribly horrible political political rhetoric produced by the Democratic Party.” Kate Miller, the wife of Stephen Miller, who recently called the Democratic Party “a domestic extremist organization”, published on the Musk site: “It is a real treat to see all these liberals condemning political violence now. You called us Hitler.
President Donald Trump blamed “radical-left political violence” and promised to “find each of those who have contributed to this atrocity and other political violence, including organizations that finance and support it, as well as those who pursue our judges, officials of the application of laws and all those who bring an order to our country.” All this, when Trump’s FBI chief Kash Patel was distinguished, first saying that a “subject” was in detention and then had to announce that the man was questioned and released. There is still no suspect in detention and no reliable account of a reason for the kirk murder.
The liberals were not the only ones to disdain Kirk. The white nationalist Nick Fuentes had long finished with him and recently attacked him for having supported war in Gaza and on Epstein files. (Like Fuentes, Kirk was scandalized by the failure of the administration to release them as promised; when Trump relied on him and others, he fell, saying that Epstein was a dead problem.)
Much to the right are frustrated by Trump’s body by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump’s inability to end the Gaza headquarters. Kirk was a pure and harsh falcon Israel. A few days ago, Laura Loomer attacked her for criticizing the bombing by Trump of Iranian nuclear installations. There are many sons of right -wing thought that could have led a curator to pick up a firearm; By the way, they have most weapons.
But instead of retaliation, many liberals seem to try to calm the right pots. Maybe the worst thing I saw today is that Ezra Klein’s Smarmy “Charlie Kirk practiced politics exactly the right way” in Thursday New York Times. “He presented himself at the campuses and spoke with anyone who spoke to him,” wrote Klein. βHe was one of the most effective persuasion practitioners of the time. A taste for disagreement is a virtue in a democracy. Liberalism could use more of its Moxy and its fearlessness. β

Author Mark Harris said it better than I could on Bluesky: “You can only write this if, because of your income, your identity or both, you are completely removed from the consequences of politics. To claim that the racist, misogynist and anti-gay that Kirk spent his life propagating is secondary to the fact that he spreads him “in the right way”.
Klein is not the only one to claim that Kirk was a gentleman and a scholar who was open to all views, took all the arrivals and, because of his skills, generally ended up beating them in the public square. In fact, Kirk especially debated people he created and who knew less than him, and he has often played their opinions to laugh. It is not because he and Gavin Newsom had a nice conversation on the governor’s podcast does not make him a model for our sons on the left or right. He may have been a good friend and a father, but he was also a vicious troll.
Nevertheless, people are punished for saying something like that. The cowards of MSNBC have dismissed the longtime political analyst (and the president of the GOP George W. Bush advisor) Matthew Dowd for having expressed his regret for the death of Kirk, but then adding: “I always come back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then led to hateful actions.” After his dismissal, Dowd apologized: “Let me be clear, I am in no way intended for my comments to blame Kirk for this horrible attack.” An Florida journalist was suspended after asking the Randy Fine representative if the kirk murder had changed his position on the Campus Fire Fire Laws.
While I write, The Wall Street Journal reports that “transgender and anti -fascist ideology” was found in what is supposed to be the weapon of murder. I want to see much more evidence before I believe it. And “transgender ideology” is not one thing – all alone that can be communicated on a ball case. The last: the Salt Lake City FBI published photos of a person of interest. He seems to wear a shirt with a flag and a white -headed pygargue, and it is nothing like an antifa transgender activist in my eyes. We have not known anything that has done that has done this so far.
If it turns out that the kirk murderer expressed nominally progressive opinions, it is always the fact that 75% of political murders came from the extremist in the last decade, according to the ADL Center on extremism.
The media will continue to “two sides” the problem. Democrats should absolutely not.
Donald Trump wants us to accept the current situation without making a stage. He wants us to believe that if we resist, he will harass us, will continue and write funding for those who interest us; He can sic Ice, the FBI or the National Guard on us.
