Lens dirty? This beta iOS 26 feature can help you take better photos

Children have sticky fingers. If they touch your iPhone, expect stains on your camera goal. This means that the next time you take a photo, the photo could have a strange mist on this subject, and you will have to take the photo several times. It is not always the fault of your children either. Even adults can be blamed for a dirty camera goal. Fortunately, with the beta iOS 26 version, there is a feature that can warn you when your camera goal needs cleaning, in this way, you do not waste a perfectly good sunset or another instagrammable moment.

Technological advice

Apple published the fifth public beta of iOS 26 on August 25. The update has brought a new design of liquid glass, appeal screening and more to the iPhones of developers and beta testers. The beta version has also introduced easy to accommodate feature called lenses cleaning tips. When this function is activated, your iPhone will display a warning that your goal should be cleaned.

This feature has been automatically activated for me after downloading the beta iOS 26 version, but it is where it is not excited for you. It is important to note that this feature is only available on the iPhone 15 and subsequent models, so if you have an iPhone 14 Pro, you will not see this option.

And don’t forget, iOS 26 is still in a beta version. This means that the update can be buggy for you, and the battery life of your device can be affected negatively, so it is preferable to keep these problems away from your main device. If you want to try the beta version, I recommend downloading it to a secondary device.

It is also possible that Apple can adjust the lenses cleaning tips and other update features before the final version of iOS 26 – I predict in the coming weeks.

Once activated, your iPhone’s camera will detect if the lens is smeared and your device will tell you to clean it to improve your image quality. This is a great way to make sure you always get a good photo, and it might be useful if you let your children play with your phone, leaving stains everywhere.
