Lennox Lewis delivers final verdict on Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul: ‘I didn’t see it coming’

Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua are set to take part this week and former undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has now shared his thoughts ahead of the contest.

Anthony Joshua fought for the world heavyweight title last September but was brutally knocked out by then-IBF champion Daniel Dubois under the Wembley Arch in London – and he has yet to fight since.

It remains to be seen whether this damning defeat had a lasting impact on “AJ”, but the two-time heavyweight champion has since named Team Usyk’s Igeor Golub as his new head coach, as he attempts to mount another title run.

In their first fight together, Joshua faces a YouTuber-turned-boxer who lacks experience in the heavyweight division, but some skeptics believe Paul could pull off one of the biggest upsets in boxing history and defeat the Brit.

On his X account, Lewis dismissed the chances of Paul shocking the world, saying “The Problem Child” should be an “easy job” for Anthony Joshua.

“Yeah… Fun and money make strange bedfellows. This should be an easy job for AJ though. Thanks to Jake for jumping into a fight like this. I didn’t see that coming.”

If the night goes as Lewis expects, fans could finally see ‘AJ’ take on long-time British rival Tyson Fury, with reports this week suggesting a deal is finally in place for the two to meet in 2026.

Paul-Joshua will take place on Friday, December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami and can be watched live on Netflix with a standard subscription and no additional pay-per-view fees.
