“ Legends Never Die Die ‘: the mourning people flock to Charlie Kirk Memorial en masse honoring the conservative leader killed

Glendale, az – On the Sunday of the Charlie Kirk memorial, the supporters told Daily Caller News Foundation that the founder of Turning Point USA had shaped their lives, some people becoming emotional when they were thinking about the heritage of the 31 -year -old curator.

Thousands of people gathered in front of the Arizona farm stadium from late Saturday evening, the crowd is only growing on Sunday morning. People of all ages could be seen, including students from the University of the Grand Canyon (GCU) who spoke of Kirk’s inheritance. Riley, a GCU student, from Wisconsin, said that she was inspired by Kirk, noting how frequency he visited the college campus and signed up with students.
“He loved the young generation so much,” said Riley. “Our school absolutely loves him. Our Turning Point chapter is there too. ”

Riley said that before joining her college TPUSA chapter, she had already started listening to Kirk before the 2024 elections. The native of Wisconsin explained that even if she considered herself more moderate, she finally voted for President Donald Trump after Kirk answered the questions she had on the election.

“I really wanted to know my facts and know what I voted for and everything because I vote more moderate – I am more moderate, but I voted for Trump just because everything was so chaotic,” Riley told DCNF. “But Charlie answered my questions that I had and the way he explained it – seeing him debate people in such respect was also very inspiring.”

When asked what message she would postpone after listening to Kirk for so long, Riley said that she would never let her “voice die”.
“His heritage, of course. But never letting his voice die. It was his thing,” said Riley. “It’s the turning point. It is really because he aroused a fire in so many people and we have to continue for him. ”

Since the assassination of Kirk, many of his friends and family have talked about the faith of the founder of Tpusa. A few days after his death, his wife, Erika Kirk, addressed the nation, stressing how much he appreciated his love for God and how it was an essential part of his message to students.

Another GCU student, Claire, originally from Washington’s state, told the DCNF that she felt obliged to attend the service because of her faith and the mission of Kirk, noting that she is also Christian.

“I love his mission and I like what he was doing with the country. His passion for students was so inspiring. It’s just a great honor to give him respect in such a way. And to see so many people go out and simply honor him in the way they are,” Claire told DCNF.

“I think it’s a really historic moment. I think he is a great turning point in history in this nation and in this generation,” added Claire. “I think it’s a great moment for everyone.”

Claire also noted that even if she had not been active with Tpusa on her campus, she now reconsidered since the murder of Kirk.

Kirk has made his name by debating students on university campuses in the United States, of which many of his discussions become viral online. He has generally been committed to liberal students on issues such as trans ideology, abortion and the protection of female sports.

While many, including vice-president JD Vance, noted that Kirk’s efforts during the presidential campaign helped the Republicans secure the White House, the students were not the only ones to feel a link with him.

Seeing from the outside of the state to the memorial, a native of Michigan named Mark told the DCNF that he had made the trip to “honor” Kirk’s life, saying that the 31 -year -old “had created a turning point for our country”.

“It’s amazing, you can probably hear it in my voice – it’s a kind of emotional thing for me,” said Mark while tears were starting to get up in his eyes. “It’s simply incredible to see all these great patriots fearing God. People with great faith in the Lord, great patriotism for America and it is simply wonderful to be among them. ”

Another non -university participant who flew to service told the DCNF that he had met Kirk in the first years of Tpusa. Lawrence Ligas, from Chicago, said that he had spoken with Kirk for fundraising for children’s psychologists in Chicago public schools. Ligas added that after their first meeting, they had reconnected several years later, smiling, thinking about memory.

“My theory is that legends do not die,” said Ligas to DCNF. “Charlie is up there with regard to America.”

While the participants throughout the day thought about Kirk’s memories, many expressed hope for the future of Tpusa and the trajectory of its title. Thursday, TPUSA announced to X that within eight days, the organization had received “more than 62,000 requests from high school students and colleges nationwide to start a chapter or get involved in an existing chapter”.
