Leeds agrees for free agent Nmecha

Leeds United began his recruitment campaign before his return to the Premier League by concluding an agreement with the German international Lukas Nmecha.

The 26 -year -old, who can operate anywhere through the first three, will officially join the West Yorkshire Club on July 1 after having managed to negotiate conditions on a first two -year contract in Elland Road.

Nmecha started in Manchester City, where he appreciated loan spells in Preston, Middlesbrough and Anderlecht, before joining Wolfsburg in 2021.

He made 73 appearances for the Bundesliga Club in the League and Cup, scoring 19 goals.

Joining Leeds is a “big challenge”, explains Nmecha

Nmecha, who also won seven ceilings for Germany, told Lutv: “It’s just a big challenge and I am really excited to know the team.

“I spoke several times with the manager and I am delighted to play this style of football that they played in the championship, even in the Premier League.

“I saw that there was a domination last season in terms of possession and goals. I am an offensive player, so it’s obviously exciting for me.

“Of course, in the Premier League, there are big boys there where you cannot play like that all the time, but I think that the idea of the manager is to play good football, football for possession, and that’s what I’m used to and what I like to do.

“I want us to go there now, but we still have a few weeks of pre-season, shopping and all that! But I can’t wait to train now.”
