LeBron James has a treat in store for his young fans this Halloween.

The Los Angeles Lakers star announced Thursday that the latest in his children’s book series, “Happy Spooky Halloween,” will be released July 21, 2026.

“This is definitely an item on my bucket list!!! I used to read all the ‘Goosebumps’ books in middle school,” he posted on social media, “and now having my own spooky book coming for my favorite time of year is giving me goosebumps!”

The 32-page picture book is published by HarperCollins Children’s Books and was illustrated by Ariel Landy.

According to a press release from the publisher, the book follows Zara and her friends, who attend a Halloween party thrown by the “big kids” at Hickory Elementary School.

“Everything is scary… a little too scary! The atmosphere is so scary that Zara and the younger kids worry they won’t be able to have fun. Will the students, young and old, learn to work together to throw the perfect party?”

“Ever since I was little, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, so I’ve been waiting for this book for a long time,” James said in the release. “I’m excited to bring that joy and true love for all things Halloween into this story that young children will be able to connect with and even learn an important lesson through this spooky and fun time of year.”

This will be James’ third children’s book published by HarperCollins, following “I Promise” and “I Am More Than.”

James, 40, is a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, a four-time champion and the leading scorer in NBA history. He has yet to play this season – his 23rd – due to a sciatica problem.
