Docuseries focus on the suicide murder of Thomas Sullivan, 14, and his mother Betty Ann in 1988. According to director Eli Roth, Thomas was looking for Satanism a month before committing the act and “cutting himself off” with a pocket knife.
The Los Angeles Times reported at the time that Thomas had stabbed his mother to death with his Boy Scout knife before set fire to the sofa before dying by suicide with the same knife. His 10 -year -old father and brother were sleeping upstairs during the attack and survived.
Investigators then found “several books on the occult and Satan cult” at home, also reported the New York Times.
