US Open: Jack Draper withdrew with an arm injury before the second round clashes | Tennis news

Jack Draper was forced to withdraw from the United States open before his confrontation in the second round with Zizou Bergs due to an arm injury.
The World No 5 arrived in New York without having played a match for more than seven weeks after being diagnosed with bone bruises in its left humerus.
Draper admitted after fighting a Victory in four sets against Federico Agustin Gomez in the first round on Monday That he had feared not to do it, the 23 -year -old pushing the expected eight -week recovery time.
He served in a conservative way, with his well-down speeds on the figures he struck on the semi-finals last year.
By taking on social networks, Draper said: “Hi guys, I’m sorry to say that I will withdraw from the United States. I did my best to be here and give myself all the odds to play, but discomfort in my arm has become too much and I have to do what is good and take care of me. Thank you for all the support.”
The 23-year-old reached the semi-finals of the US Open last year before losing against the possible winner Jannik Sinner.
Belgian Bergs will face either Gabriel Diallo or Jaume Munar in the third round of New York.
Robson: Just too early to drape
Laura Robson of Sky Sports:
“He officially published a statement saying that it was the arm that simply did not resist after his match in the first round.
“He was there this morning practicing and he always seemed that it was quite positive, but I think it was too early for him.
“This match intensity changes things. You never know completely before going out and playing everything. Unfortunately, it was a little too much.
“It’s really disappointing because it was the tournament he did so well last year, making the semi-finals.”
Henman: extremely disappointing for draper
Tim Henman of Sky Sports:
“Laura and I had breakfast with Jack this morning and he seemed in a good mood.
“He should know that things were not ideal, but he was going to go out on the practice field and try.
“You understand, playing at this level – the best of the five sets – he must be close to the ideal to go there, and his arm is something with which he has been struggling for a long time.
“Very disappointing that Jack had to withdraw.”
