When the latest iPad Air with the M3 chip was released in March, Lifehacker senior tech editor Jake Peterson said. I warned you not to buy itbecause its advantages did not justify the high price compared to an older model. But things have changed since then: the price of the new iPad Air has dropped by $300, reaching its lowest level since its release, according to price tracking tools. You can now get the 13-inch iPad Air M3 with 512GB of storage for $999.68 (originally $1,249).
THE M3 chip dominates M2 chipand more power also means a longer lifespan for your iPad. In theory, you’ll also see more efficient multitasking, heavier applications running more efficiently, and higher overall speed. As Jake noted, when it comes to specs, this new iPad Air is among the best tablets Apple has ever made. The M3 chip enables hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which means lighting effects in games and graphically intensive applications look better. But other than the new chip, there’s not much difference between this and the older M2 version.
The iPad Air M3 comes with a screen with a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels at 264 ppi; a 12 MP Center Stage front camera (which tracks your face); a 12 MP wide rear camera with flash, USB-C and Touch ID; and battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on usage. Of course you will also have Apple Intelligence (if you are interested), and he supports Apple Pencil, as well as the new magic keyboard.

If you already own an M2, there’s no reason to upgrade. For those looking for a More affordable iPadthe basic model is just $299 (originally $349) for now, and it will be enough for most people. But if you want the latest and greatest, the iPad Air M3 is your best choice at the current discounted price.
