Laura Samani returns with the title of Venice “A Year of School” – Trailer

Based on the novel of the same name of Giani Stutarich, the film follows Fred, who, in September 2007, went from his home in Sweden to Trieste on the Adriatic Sea with his father, who took a new management work in the city of northeast of Italy.
She enrolled in the local technical high school for her last year, being as the only girl in an entirely male class. It quickly becomes the center of attention, especially for three friends: the fascinating and reserved antero, the outgoing Pasini and the gentle and protective moth. The three have been a unit for as long as they remember. Fred’s arrival disrupts their balance and puts their long -standing friendship. Like each boys secretly wants Fred for himself, she aspires to be accepted in their circle and to become one of them. But to really belong, he is asked to sacrifice more and more.
The film features Stella Wendick, Giacomo Covi, Pietro Giustolisi and Samuel Volturno. Samani wrote the script with Elisa Dondi. The producers are the film Nefertiti with Rai Cinema, Tomsa Films and Arte France Cinema. Lucky Red will release the film in Italy.
“This film explores the challenges of growing up as a young woman in a world dominated by men, where the bodies and desires of women can be used against them,” said Samani about the film in the declaration of its director.
Samani was born in 1989 in Trieste. She studied cinema and communication at the University of Pisa and the production of films at the Centro Sperimental Di Cinematografia in Rome. His graduation project, a short-circuit entitled The sleeping saintCreated at the Cinefondation of the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.
