Lance Stroll: Aston Martin F1 Driver returns for the Canadian Grand Prix at home | F1 News

Lance Stroll will go back to Aston Martin at his home from the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend after having withdrawn from the last race in Spain.

The team announced on Saturday evening during the last race a fortnight ago when Stroll, who qualified 14th, would not participate in the Grand Prix the next day due to hand and wrist pain which required surgery.

The team said that his pain was linked to a procedure he had suffered before the 2023 season after a fall in his bike, which was injured on the wrist.

Aston Martin confirmed on Wednesday, Aston Martin confirmed that Stroll was able to return to action in Montreal this weekend.

“I am delighted to come back to the wheel with the team for my home grand prize this weekend,” said Stroll.

“I was always going to fight hard to be ready to run in front of the Montreal crowd. I feel good after my procedure and put a few laps in Paul Ricard this week to prepare myself.”

Stroll was absent from the Spanish GP the last time and, despite the participation in the qualification session in Barcelona, a late decision was made to officially withdraw from the main race.

Aston Martin could not replace the race for the race because he finished the qualifications.

“Lance has experienced a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he experienced and made a few laps in an old F1 car to Paul Ricard earlier this week,” Aston Martin said.

“Lance feels fit and healthy, and is delighted to compete in front of his crowd.”
