KT Rolster, Anybody’s Legend advances to World Championship

League of Legends at the 2025 Esports World Cup

KT Rolster and Anywhere’s Legend became the first teams to advance to the playoff stage of the $5 million League of Legends World Championship 2025 in Beijing.

On Friday, both claimed their third victory on the Swiss stage in the best-of-three third-round high-profile matches. KT Rolster swept Top Esports and Anybody’s Legend rallied to defeat CTBC Flying Oyster 2-1.

Teams need three wins in the five-round Swiss stage to reach the elimination stage, while teams with three losses will be eliminated. All matches are best-of-one, except for elimination and progression matches, which are best-of-three.

Eight teams will compete in the playoff stage, a single-elimination bracket starting October 28 where all matches will be played in a best-of-five format. The winner of the grand finale on November 9 will take home $1 million, including $800,000 for the runner-up.

Action continues on Saturday with four third round mid-matches between 1-1 teams:

–100 thieves against Hanwha Life
