The BCCI introduced the change of rule following a meeting of the Council of Governments, modifying the condition of play 13.7.3 to take into account potential weather interruptions. As part of the new directive, an hour from start to 7:30 p.m. (IST) can now be delayed until 9:30 p.m. without any reduction in the Overs. Earlier, the matches had only one hour grace. The new directive means that a five -site match could theoretically start almost midnight. The revised rule is in force for the eight remaining games of the League scene.
