Kirsten Dunst reveals if she would come back as Mary Jane Watson
Kirsten Dunst is open to the idea of doing Spider-Man 4 With Tobey Maguire.
Dunst plays the role of Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, which include Spider-Man from 2002, Spider-Man 2 in 2004, and Spider-Man 3 in 2007. It was planned to make a fourth film with Sony Pictures and Marvel after that; However, they never materialized.
Some Spider-Man fans, however, still want to see Spider-Man 4 from Raimi, especially after Maguire resumed his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man of 2021: No Way Way Home. Although there is no announcement on the development of Spider-Man 4, the writer Batman Part II Mattson Tomlin recently presented an idea for a potential suite.
“Honestly, at the moment, my main interest in this regard would be to write a Spider-Man 4 where Spider-Man de Tobey juggles with a husband and a father,” said Tomlin. “Spider-man as a father is where I gravitate to the last 8 films.”
What does Kirsten Dunst say about Spider-Man 4?
During a recent appearance on the SUPS program, Dunst was asked what she thought of the idea of Tomlin and if she was open to coming back because Mary Jane Watson should start to move forward.
“I never thought about it,” replied Dunst. “I don’t know – it’s like, with a question like that, I’m afraid of saying anything … Yeah, it would be cool, right? I mean, I don’t know if fans are in it. I have the impression that it’s an interesting film, right? Me and Tobey doing this again? But with children?”
While the future of another Spider-Man film with Maguire and Dunst remains in the air at that time, there was another MCU film with Peter Parker by Tom Holland in the works. This film, entitled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is currently in production and will be released on July 31, 2026.
