Kirsten Dunst Is Amazed By Channing Tatum’s Gambit Card Throwing Skills

Thanks to his love for the character Gambit – and now his time playing him in the MCU – Channing Tatum has become quite good at flogging playing cards. At this point, it’s so good that his “Roofman” co-star Kirsten Dunst was legitimately stunned when she saw it in person.
Sitting down with MTV ahead of their new film, Tatum once again gushed about the opportunity to play Gambit, let alone reprise the character in next year’s “Avengers: Doomsday.”
“It’s crazy,” he said. “I only wanted to be in ‘X-Men,’ let alone now I get to be in ‘Avengers,’ so it’s just wild.”
Naturally, the actor was given a deck of cards to show off his skills. Tatum chose to aim an off-screen camera, and when he let the card fly, Dunst let out an “Ooh!” » audible. when the card made contact.
“You didn’t even jump!” she marveled, immediately imitating the cameraman’s stoicism.
“I got it in the lens,” Tatum boasts.

“That’s cool! Yeah you did it!” Dunst responded enthusiastically.
Card throwing is of course Gambit’s specialty. No, throwing cards isn’t a superpower, but the ability to manipulate kinetic energy is, and that’s what Gambit can do. As such, he manipulates energy to greatly accelerate the object’s kinetic energy, and his object of choice happens to be a deck of cards.
Tatum debuted as the character in “Deadpool & Wolverine” last July, years after desperately trying to get a Gambit movie off the ground. Shortly after, Tatum posted an emotional thank you to Ryan Reynolds online, crediting the “Deadpool” actor with bringing Gambit to the screen.
“I thought I lost Gambit forever. But he fought for me and Gambit. I will probably owe him forever,” Tatum wrote at the time. “Because I don’t know how I could ever do something that would live up to what this means to me. I love you, buddy.”
