Negotiations on a potential termination of the contract were put in place between the giants of the Liga Barcelona and the entourage of Clement Lenglet.

Defender Lenglet is fresh out of another loan to the capital of Catalunya, who saw the Frenchman pass the 2024/25 campaign with the Atlético Madrid of Diego Simeone.
The two parties want to continue their relationship until next season, but with a catch.
Atlético would have clearly told Barcelona that they are not willing to separate from all kinds of costs to bring Lenglet back to Madrid.
As much to leave the Camp Nou in brass in a difficult situation, desperate to remove the solid salary package from their off-favori plug from the club books, while also being under pressure from Lenglet himself to find a route to separate for good this summer.

Deco and CO, in turn, had no choice but to take desperate measures.
