Kevin de Bruyne Transfer News: Napoli signs the former Manchester City midfielder

De Bruyne notably helped City to win six first league titles, five championship cups and two FA Cups – plus their first title of the Champions League in 2023, finishing the triples while the Pep Guardiola team only became the second English team to reach the feat.

His departure from City was announced before the end of the season, and Bruyne made her emotional goodbye at the Etihad stadium after her last home match against Bournemouth in May.

He also briefly appeared in the last match of the city’s national season of the city.

“It was incredible to have the 10 years that I had with everything that happened here. It was an incredible driving and an absolute pleasure,” said Bruyne about her release in town.

“It was a joy to work very hard to try to create something that made the club we enjoyed. I am super proud to have played a role in there.

“Manchester is my house and my family house in the past 10 years.”

City moved quickly to fill the creative ditch left by Bruyne, signing Tijjani Reijnders of AC Milan and Rayan Cherki of Lyon.

They could face Bruyne in the Champions League next season, the Belgian international pursuing his career at the highest level.

He joined the former Premier League field circles Scott Mctuminay and Billy Gilmour in a team from Napoli which has just prevailed in a fascinating title race in Serie A last season.
