“We didn’t want to be in front,” Ashley explained, “We didn’t even necessarily want to let people know it was us. It was really about the product, to the point where we were like, who could we put in front so we didn’t have to?”
Like Ashley, who shares her son Otto2 years, with husband Louis Eisner— note that they created the fashion house in the hope of creating something for themselves.
“We had just moved to New York,” she recalls. “We were 18 and I think what we knew was that we wanted to take this time to take a break from what we were doing before and explore things that interested us.”
That meant exploring “what life has to offer,” Ashley continued, before Mary-Kate finished her sentence by saying, “Creatively.”
