Keith Urban cancels South Carolina concert due to illness

Keith Urban pauses the music while he recovers.

The country superstar had to cancel the Oct. 16 stop in Greenville, S.C., of his High and Alive Tour after a minor illness.

“Keith Urban was advised by his longtime laryngologist Dr. Garrett Gaartsof the Vanderbilt Voice Center, to cancel his performance in Greenville, SC tonight at Bon Secours Wellness Arena due to laryngitis that began earlier this week,” the Bon Secours Wellness Arena website reads on October 16. “He was placed on complete vocal rest. »

As for taking the stage for his next show in Nashville on October 17, the statement added: “Dr. Garrett is optimistic about returning to the stage for his show in Nashville.”

For his part, Keith expressed his regret at having missed the concert.

“Hey Greenville, I’m so sorry to have to cancel the show,” the “Let it Roll” singer said in a statement on the site. “I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of it, or any of YOU, for granted. I can’t wait to go back when we can!!!!!”
