Katie Taylor Def. Amanda Serrano, maintains a super light title

New York – After 60 minutes and 30 rounds spent together inside the ring, the trilogy between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano has reached her conclusion, Taylor winning a majority decision in a much more calculated and provisional case than their previous meetings to keep his unquestable super light championship.

The fight closed a fighting card of a historic woman in front of a closed stripes closed energetic of 19,721 fans at Madison Square Garden, with a door of 2.63 million which broadcast live on Netflix. However, unlike their two other fascinating trials that were narrowly won by Taylor, it was a much more moderate business with the Irishwoman using a hook and gusts to make a more final decision with two 97-93 scores and a judge even sees it at 95-95.

“I was obviously planning to come here and fight a discipline in this match,” said Taylor of his performance. “I planned to do it the first two times too, but it didn’t work like that. Fortunately, I was able to execute my game plan very well, move my feet and not let her put on her feet.”

The two previous meetings of Taylor and Serrano were stimulating meetings that Taylor won in a disputed way but noted the profile of the women’s boxing. Their third meeting highlighted female boxing with 17 world titles disputed through the combat card, but has not completely encountered the bar of the bar extraordinarily raised by the first two fights.

Taylor and Serrano both won 70 punches each, far from Taylor who won 364 punches in the first two fights and Serrano Landing 497.

“We tried something different,” said Serrano. “It was a question of working smarter, not more difficult. I tried to keep my distance and I tried not to go there and to fight with her because, apparently, it did not work in the first two fights. We tried to stay with the long punches, both, and I guess it was not enough.”

The first meeting of Taylor and Serrano took place on April 30, 2022 at Madison Square Garden and had a global audience of 1.5 million viewers on Netflix. Their revenge match last November as the main co-event of Jake Paul’s decision against Mike Tyson has become the most watched women’s sporting event in American history, with an average of 74 million live viewers worldwide on Netflix.

“”[We proved] Women can fight, we can sell and look good by doing it, “said Serrano, who found a silver lining despite the end of Taylor again.

The duo had the scene to themselves in New York and brought the present and the future of women’s boxing with them. But it was the pride of Ireland that put a stamp on the rivalry with a 3-0 scan.

Unlike their two previous meetings, the pair spent the first two laps to be extremely cautious before Serrano begins to increase the pressure on the turn 3. Taylor remained composed and chose his stains while Serrano flashed the blow and won the occasional combination.

Taylor (25-1, 6 ko) opened more in the fifth round and caught Serrano with the right hand and prevented “the real affair” of the corner surrounding after each gaple of punches. Taylor began to timed Serrano’s advances in the sixth round and bounced several combinations of her opponent’s skull each time she was looking to move forward. Although persistent, Serrano’s refusal to drop his hands ultimately became his loss.

During the last rounds, Taylor was comfortable with the pace and the Serrano Raidi (47-4-1, 31 kB) with gusts and used a control hook to prevent the Puerto Rican from loading.

Fighting Out of Carolina, Puerto Rico, Serrano simply did not look alike and only came to life during the final round with the decision well in hand.

With the victory, the most important rivalry of women’s boxing is over and the future for the two fighters is undecided. Even if the last chapter did not reach the heights of their two previous meetings, Taylor and Serrano undoubtedly put female boxing on a pedestal that he had never been before.

Given a final conclusion in their last meeting, Taylor is happy to move to other opponents or retirement.

“I don’t know [what the future holds]But I don’t want to fight Amanda Serrano again, “said Taylor.” She strikes too hard. “”

In the co-printing event, Alycia Baumgardner (16-1, 7 Kos 1 without competition) retained its undisputed featherweight championship with a unanimous decision on the Jennifer Miranda, undefeated (12-1). “The Bomb” has kept scores of 98-92, 98-92 and 97-93.

It was a matter of cat and mouse early with Baumgardner using his blow and trying to fix traps to win his narrow right hand. But Miranda was wise to the match plan and landed several counter-mains on the right to eliminate the champion’s advances.

However, Miranda was simply not busy enough and allowed Baumgardner to start and put an end to too many exchanges.

Baumgardner finished a long layout with a victory and said in her interview after the fight she was rusty and wanted to come back as soon as possible. With Jake Paul calling it as the future of the most precious promotions, they are likely that they will hold it occupied.
