Only a few days after being snubbed on the Indian side for the Antilles tour, Karun Nair returned to the Karnataka Ranji Trophy team after two seasons with Vidarbha. Despite his recent international setback, in the country, he remains a crucial player in the longest format of the game.
The 31 -year -old Indian cricket player, well known for his triple century, undefeated against England in 2017, recently returned to the longest format of the match for India. Nair made his highly anticipated return to the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy. He played in four of the five games in England.
Karun Nair is back where he started
In a notable return, Karun Nair was appointed to the Karnataka Ranji Trophy team for his opening match against Sarashtra, from October 15. This would mark his return to Karnataka, ending an absence of two long seasons.

After an unconvincing form, he moved to Vidarbha last season, where he played a key role by helping the team raised his title of Ranji Trophy. His strong domestic shape earned him calls in India, because he excelled with the bat not only in the red ball tournament but also in the Vijay Hazare trophy of white-ball.
The decision to appear for Karnataka comes just a few weeks after India’s main selector, Ajit Agarkar, has actually attracted the curtain of Nair’s test career.
Ajit Agarkar excluded any possibility of return from Karun Nair
Karun Nair, who has received several opportunities to score against the opposition against which he had marked the superb triple century, did not manage to promise with the bat, because he ended up scoring the fewest points as a striker in the series, with only half a century.
Citing his bad shape, the chief selector of the BCCI, Ajit Agarkar, said it was enough not to give him another chance in the series at home against the Antilles. In particular, the availability of a wider younger cricket pool has led to development.
“We were expecting more in Karun Nair in England. It cannot be a single round. Devdutt Padikkal offers us more options. We want to give at least 15-20 chances for each player, but this is not possible each time,” said Agarkar during a recent press conference, effectively putting realistic hopes for a return of test for Nair.
