Friday, the trial read Karen read the court after a day off due to the heat. And a new defense witness is planned on the stand to start the day.
Read said on Wednesday that she expects her defense team to rest their case next week, maybe on Tuesday.
Read is accused of having struck O’Keefe, his Boston police friend, with his SUV in 2022 and letting him die alone in the snow outside a party at home at 34 Fairview Road in Canton, Massachusetts. Her defense team said she was a vast police plot and that O’Keefe was fatally beaten by another police officer at the party.
A trial was declared last year after the jury could not make a verdict unanimous.
