Justine Lupe loves being a mother to her little girl.
THE Nobody wants that The star, 36, spoke with PEOPLE during the Oct. 16 premiere of season 2 of her Netflix show and shared more about becoming a mom to daughter Ellis, whom she shares with husband Tyson Mason.
Lupe, who previously said she was five months pregnant while filming the first season of Nobody wants thattells PEOPLE she’s loving this adjustment period as she settles into parenthood.
“Oh my God. I have to say it’s a little boring, but I really like it all,” Lupe says. “She’s a delight, she’s so funny. I guess what I appreciate most is how unapologetically grounded she is. […] she is.”

“Babies have no self-consciousness, so they look you right in the eye and fart and have no doubt about the situation, and I really like how carefree the whole vibe is,” she continues. “It’s really nice to be there, and it reminds you that it’s a lovely quality to be authentically yourself.”
In February, Lupe married her husband Mason in a courthouse ceremony. The couple were joined by their granddaughter, Ellis, and their dog. Ellis, born in August 2024, wore a frilly white dress, and the couple’s pup even got in on the action, sporting a mini tuxedo.
When Nobody wants that premiering on Netflix in September, Lupe shared a post revealing she was more than five months pregnant while filming the series. She added that she even tried to hide her pregnancy from the cast and crew of the show for a while.
“Nobody Wants This is available on @netflix today! This show carried me through my first 5 months of pregnancy with so much warmth,” she wrote in the post.
She then expressed her appreciation for “having a completely pregnant showrunner in @erinfoster, a fierce champion of motherhood in @kristenanniebell, a DP in @adrianpengcorreia who knows how to work off camera to make me look, well, not pregnant.”
Lupe then shared how her teammates and crew found out she was expecting a baby. “And the cast and crew who supported me from the moment my Gucci skirt ripped front and back on set at 2 a.m. when they didn’t know I was pregnant and thought I was falling apart quickly,” she continued.
On February 6, Lupe took a moment to mark six months of parenthood, while sending a sweet thank you to Mason on Instagram. Alongside a series of photos and clips of Mason, the couple and their daughter, she wrote: “SIX MONTHS in the trenches with you and my boy, my boy, baby, you are the prize. 🏆♥️.”
