Justin Longue’s horror film & Kate Bosworth shows a real marriage

In the new film by Colin Minihan, “Coyotes”, which made his debut on Saturday at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Justin Long and Kate Bosworth play a couple forced to survive when their house Hollywood Hills is surrounded by Killer Coyotes. It is a role close to their hearts, because the actors have been married in real life since 2023 – just with much fewer wild animal attacks. The only problem? In the film, the relationship of their characters is a bit rocky, while Long and Bosworth are decidedly on the same loving page.
“We have so fun together and we love each other so much that we fall so much in the scenes,” says Bosworth. “But Colin should come and say:” Guys, no one will see that there is a problem with these people. “I’m kidding to say that my worship for Justin has overshadowed my professional capacity.”
The couple, who met during the shooting of the 2021 horror comedy “House of Darkness”, came across “Coyotes” when Long was sent the script but could not read it, because he was busy directing the short film “Fur Babies” for the frightening anthology of last year “V / H / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / S / Beyond.” Bosworth read it on behalf and encouraged it to consider it as a star vehicle.
“My favorite films are those that ride the edge of the horror and comedy razor; There is a mashup of genres, ”she says. “This scenario is certainly read in this way. And then when we saw “What Keeps You Alive” by Colin, which is such a big film. Having worked in this industry for so long, I could say that he had difficult constraints in certain places, and he chose to complete them in a certain way. It was a real character film, but obviously in a genre world.
The couple had sought a project on which to work together, and their shared agent suggested Bosworth to consider the other main role. The trio ended up having such a strong shared vision that they continue their creative partnership beyond “coyotes”. Before the fantastic film of the film of the film, it was announced that Bosworth and Long would produce a remake of the cult hit by Minihan in 2011 “serious encourage” with him, and long to Strive.
“We all met and it was really love at first glance between us and Colin,” explains Bosworth. “It continues to be a love story.”
The couple says that Minihan’s narration strikes an agreement with them as an actor while trying to walk on the stiff rope between humor and horror in a film like “Coyotes”.
“It is very truthful,” says a lot. “This is one of the things that gave me a lot of confidence on its subject. Even if there are certain increased situations in which these people are, there is a very anchored nature to action. He has an ear for the truth which is very comforting as an actor. It is like a northern star, every time I doubt, whenever I turn.”
Although the obvious draw for the film is an act of Coyote, a stroke of coyote, the couple is efficient on the other’s ability to make heavier moments during the family arc.
“I am the biggest fan of Justin,” says Bosworth. “I was so breathtaking and impressed, because obviously, people know him so well for the kind of horror and for comedy. But the dramatic moments of this film for him are really impressive, and they were a great thing for me to look as a professional – and, of course, as a woman, but really as a professional. It is so good. It’s such a good performance. “
Long red through the compliment and returns it, praising Bosworth behind.
“His performance has everything,” he says. “He has wild strength swings, and he has a real tender maternal heart. He is a real pivot, I am delighted that people can see him.”
Even after a short zoom interview, it is clear that even the Killer coyotes could not separate this couple.
