Justin Baldoni Claims DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE’s Blake Lively Added Previously Unscripted Kiss

A new development in the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has occurred. According to PeopleBaldoni’s lawyers filed a video as an exhibit for summary judgment. According to the site, the actor’s legal team claimed that Lively improvised a kissing scene between her character and Baldoni’s. The site obtained video of the scene being filmed. It shows the two actors playing in a hospital, when Lively kisses her co-star shortly before the scene cuts.
Baldoni’s legal team claims that Lively, “she herself added to the script, in which her character kissed Baldoni’s character in every take, although there was no kiss in the script.” Given the wording of the article and the filing, it is unclear whether the filing alleges that Lively added the scene to the script, or if she improvised it in the moment.
According to People, Baldoni’s lawyers claimed that although Lively said there were two impromptu kisses, the ones filmed during the time period the actress specified were part of the script: “Lively also complains that there were inappropriate, unscripted kisses during the first period of filming, before the strike break. But in fact, the only two kissing scenes filmed during the initial period of filming were both scenes that included kissing as written in the script. These kissing scenes were not improvised.”
Furthermore, regarding the ongoing legal conflict, People also revealed texts allegedly exchanged between Justin Baldoni and It ends with us author, Colleen Hoover. According to the site, Baldoni’s side filed a statement that included text allegedly sent by Hoover to Baldoni. The alleged text read:
“I feel like I’m on an island here. When the hate is directed at me, you post this article and allow it to fuel comments. And the timing makes it seem like you care about your image, but not the women behind this story. I know things took a horrible turn and I felt forced to choose when I didn’t want to, but the articles from both sides are so upsetting and ridiculous. It makes everyone working on this feel immature movie Everyone is trying to save themselves and now it has turned into a huge mess. […] And I know you think I made decisions for certain reasons, but I felt the breakup long before I connected with Blake.”
The author then reportedly said she was disappointed by some of Baldoni’s actions:
“At first I wasn’t allowed to read the script until I sat down with the readers, but then all the interviews made it seem like you included me in the script from the beginning. […] And the book, when I asked you to donate at least part of the profits to DV, I was told that the only way to donate was to take 1% and give it myself. Then the whole tattoo thing, all the texts where you blame Blake for it and repeat that she didn’t read the book every time, I would just try to ask you what to tell the readers. I have been personally disappointed by your actions on several occasions. I appreciate that you didn’t say anything directly negative. This is how it should be. But you are grown men with a platform. You know how to use it to protect your image. Please don’t continue to use it to harm me or my loved ones. That’s all I ask.”
