“I’m nervous about tonight …” Luxbox revealed the first official trailer for the film GavagaiThe last of the German filmmaker Ulrich Köhler. He is a talented director under the radar known for his post-apocalyptic film In my room A few years ago. Gavagai is now presenting the New York and Zurich film festivals in 2025, before showing Hamburg and even more holidays this fall. It is a meta-history of a filmmaker who makes a film and then meeting racism during his first. On the set of a turbulent growth of an adaptation in Médée in Senegal, in Africa, Maja is looking for comfort in a love story with her Nourou co-star. Months later, they meet at the film’s premiere in Berlin. The old feelings are surfaced, but a racist incident disturbs their reunion. Tensions are increasing while everyone is trying to do the right thing. While the old tragedy takes place on the screen, a contemporary drama takes place. Gavagai stars Jean-Christophe’s madness,, Maren made an egg,, Nathalie RichardAnd Thiered Thitheradum. It looks pretty good! I am surprised that this is not at other parties like Venice or Tiff, but I am glad that it is the chance to shine now. Keep an eye on it.

Intro extended via nyff: “In this unexpected and unexpected unexpected metacinematic drama of the German director Ulrich Köhler, a new production of radical Medea films, has changed considerably compared to the original piece of Euripides, becomes the center of a series of non -resolved contemporary tensions. Nourou (Jean-Christophe Folily) and Maja (Maren Eggert) embody Jason and Medea on the screen, competing for the director of the film’s high anxiety (Nathalie Richard) during the shooting in Senegal, negotiating while negotiating an adult romance. Later, during the premiere of the film in Berlin, Nourou, not resolved in his personal and professional life, has a hike with a racist security guard, who throws his work – and the world – of the world of his axis … Gavagai is [Köhler’s] The most ambitious and expansive film to date – a precise account of moral crises and social prejudices, modern and old, internal and external.“”
