Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly already started talks with the club about leaving in the January transfer window.
The Netherlands international is currently struggling to play for Man Utd, with Ruben Amorim bringing in new attacking players to add even more competition over the summer.
Zirkzee hasn’t had the most impressive debut season at Old Trafford, and it now looks like it will be even harder for him to get many minutes.
It’s far from ideal in a World Cup year, with the 24-year-old eager to ensure he can earn a place in the Dutch national team for next summer’s tournament.
Joshua Zirkzee already discussing Manchester United exit
According to Graeme Bailey of Football TBRZirkzee wants to leave and has already discussed it with people at United.
“I’ve been told that Zirkzee has had conversations with United and they are aware of his situation, he wants to go to the World Cup final, but he won’t do that given the current status quo,” Bailey said.
“That means a move, and that will be sorted before January.”
As I reported for the Daily Briefing last week, Zirkzee will likely be available for around €35-40 million this winter, with a few clubs already expressing interest.
What’s next for Joshua Zirkzee?
Zirkzee is reportedly keen to return to Italy and could have that option as Juventus, AC Milan and Como are showing interest in his services.
There is also interest from Premier League clubs, with Aston Villa, West Ham and Brighton looking like potential destinations.
It will be interesting to see where Zirkzee ends up, but it certainly seems like it is very unlikely that he will still be a United player by the end of January.
