Josh Manson avalanche signs a two -year extension

The Colorado avalanche signed defender Josh Manson to an extension of two years until 2027-2028 on Thursday. The financial conditions have not been disclosed.
Manson, 33, spent more than three seasons with the avalanche after starting his NHL career with the Ducks Anaheim, although he was limited to 48 games in 2024-25 due to an injury.
He collected 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) at that time and raised 57 points (13 goals, 44 assists) and 443 strokes in 173 games for Colorado. Manson was an acquisition of commercial maturity for the AVS in 2022, and he helped the team win the Stanley Cup a few months later (three goals, five assists in 20 eliminatory games).
“Josh was an important member of our blue line since he joined the team during the 2022 extent race,” said Avalanche Director Chris Macfarland in a statement. “He is a stable and hard defender who registers on the offensive side at key moments. He is also a veteran chief in our locker room, and we are delighted to have him under contract for three other seasons.”
Through 11 seasons with Anaheim (2014-22) and Colorado, Manson collected 39 goals, 131 assists and 1,526 strokes in 626 games.
