Josh Brolin asks Stephen Colbert to be his assistant after the late show

What will Stephen Colbert do once he finishes his race by hosting CBS ‘ Late show in May 2026? He has a lot of options.
But Josh Brolin also offered him a job during his Wednesday evening Late show appearance.
Colbert, suggested Brolin, should be his personal assistant.

It was announced last month that CBS had canceled The late showWith the longtime franchise which should end in May. CBS described the move as “a financial decision” in the midst of a difficult linear television environment.
But there have been generalized speculations on the other reasons for cancellation, because Colbert was an eminent critic of President Donald Trump and the parent company of CBS, Paramount Global, recently finished a merger with Skydance which awaited the approval of the FCC. Paramount has also recently settled a legal action brought by Trump 60 minutes Interview with former vice-president Kamala Harris, whom Colbert criticized in his program. But CBS said it was not a factor in the decision.
