Jonathan Kuminga and the Warriors have restored contractual negotiations.

The Front Office of Golden State has remained an impasse with the 22 -year -old limited free agent for a new agreement, although the two parties try to solve their problems.

“Well, there have been renewed conversations between the two parties,” Anthony Slater, initiated of the NBA, on the “NBA Today” of ESPN on Friday. “There is a dialogue, but as you all know, speaking does not necessarily correspond to a movement. After exchanging against Jimmy Butler last season, Kuminga fell from the regular rotation of the Warriors coach Steve Kerr. The lack of significant playing time, associated with its status as a free agency, led both sides to examine the commercial possibilities. While a potential commercial framework was in place with the Sacramento Kings, nothing has materialized.

The two parties seem ready to conclude an agreement to keep Kuminga to Golden State, but the 22 -year -old is still not sold on what is equivalent to a backup for games when Butler and Steph Curry cannot wear offensive load.

Kuminga was selected with the overall choice n ° 7 in the recovery of the NBA 2021, with Golden State expecting the raw but talented player to turn into an All-Star caliber player. Although he has shown lightning, it was not enough to gain a place in the starting rotation with Butler in the lap.

The 22 -year -old has few other options given the lack of interest of other teams and his status as a limited free agent.

Hopefully the two parties will be able to resolve their differences and find a resolution before the team’s official training camp start next month.
